Default ecm

I would like to know how to test the ecm on my car it is 1992 civic. I have a manuel that show how to jump the ecm to get the codes I did that but my engine light still stays on so i don't know if the ecm is bad or if something else.

Default RE: ecm

If the light stays on steady while the jumper is on to read the codes, that means it has no codes. This is the normal result if the car is working and the light stays out while driving. Poor performance may still occur but it is being caused by a situation that the ECM cannot detect.

If the car doesn't start and the light stays on steady while turning the key on but not having the test connector jumped, having ruled out the main relay, that usually means the ECM is bad.
