ECU scanning?
I just swaped a OBD1 B16 SIR II into my OBD2 EX. I was able to scan my car before but now with the swap done I cant get any scanners to work. I tried two snap on scanners and my cheapo scanner with no prevail. Plese help.
The OBDII port on your car will not work with the OBD I ECU. If you have a snap on MT 2500, you might be able to find an adapter hook up to the ECU. I've never been able to find the OBD I port on Hondas, but you might be able to find it on the harness.
guess i did not have to ask since in your first post you said I.
(95 should be I)
unless they changed it, and i have an 88 civic - don;t know where it is, but on mine it is under the floorboard carpet on pass side where a person's feet would be. a plate is over it.
WELL, wait a minute. i cannot tell what exactly you swapped. but without answering that, if you have an OBD-I ECU, then that is read by turning the key to the ON position, and then reading the single LED blinking light that is on the ECU. simple. i done it 20 to 30 times.
they may be tricky. there is a break between the quick flashes. count the quick flashes. that give s you a number. the number is a reference to the suspected problem. there may be more than 1 code. there will be a break between the quick flashes. this is for 88 and up. before 88 , it is different. 3 sets of lights.
just read in haynes - that the above is only available on engines where the car is equipped with a check engine light.
hope this helps
