Default EGR Valve on a 5-speed 98 EX??

Does it have one?

If so, where is it located?

I'm new here so go easy on me.

TIA

No. Only the Civic HX with the D16Y5 engine has an EGR valve.

thanks.

I have a bad idle and a bad acceleration. Once it gets past 40 mph, the civic kinda stalls and jerks. It feels like its misfiring. I think. Its hard to explain.

I took it into a mechanic and told me it was iacv valve. I didn't have $400 to get it replaced, so I cleaned it myself. Nothing changed. I bought a new iacv valve and replaced it and nothing changed.

So, I was doing some research and I read that if its not the iacv valve it could be the egr valve. And lastly, it could be the pcv valve.

So, I guess the first two are not the problem. Next thing is to replace the PCV valve.

Has anybody had or heard of the same problem? I've changed all of the obvious like the spark plugs. The wires are good.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A bad IACV won't cause a bad acceleration. You may have more than one problem.

Any CEL codes?

Have you inspected the contact points in the distributor cap and on the rotor?

Especially if this problem started abruptly, consider a skipped timing belt. True misfiring will usually set a CEL code.
