EGR velve & sensor
civic HB 94,
Engine d15z1
vx (vei vtec-e)
problem #1
when i disconecting EGR velve sensor & EGR control solenoid valve, check engine does not Light On is it normal? (i try to Self-diagnostic ECU but, Check engine light always On, not blinks)

problem #2
engine lose power, it feels any time when engine has warmed up to normal operating temperature.
problem #3
Fuel consumption 9-10 litres/100 km (23 MPG) in city. hwy (30 mpg)
replaced:
spark plugs ZFR4F-11 (NGK)
oxygen sensor.
map sensor.
throttle angel sensor.
new changed oil in engine & gear box (+ oil filter)
AIR filter
OIL filter
Fuel filter
Ignition Timing is ok
sorry for my bad english

When the CEL stays on (no blinking) in self-diagnostic mode and off in normal mode, that means that no codes are stored. Make sure your "BACK UP" fuse in the box next to the battery is OK. The ECU cannot remember any codes without the back up power.
Also make sure the spark timing was adjusted in self-diagnostic mode, not normal mode. It will be way off adjusting it in normal mode.
Not sure about a Civic but most cars with EGR you can reach under the vacuum diaphraghm on the valve actuator and feel it moving to open and close the valve. It should move up (opening) when you rev the engine and close at idle. If you force the valve open by hand at idle, the engine should slow down or stall. This can also be done by applying vacuum to the hose after disconnecting it from the controls on the firewall. If the valve does these things you can be fairly confident the EGR system is OK.
