ok this is a wierd one, i can start my car after i hit my starter,but my fans wont work im also getting a code po117 (engine coolant temp circuit low input). also every so often my car wont start all there is a clicking noise from my starter like its getting grounded, but my cooling fans kick on right off the back. been checking the wires and all, still cant get my fingers on it, and thougths and inputs would be appreciated.

oh and since im getting a code its altering my a/f ratios so my idle is at 1700 and runnning rich which sux once its warm

All the problems you describe (except possibly the starting problem) could be caused by a faulty ECT sensor/circuit, which is throwing the P0117 code. As shown in the picture, the ECT not only controls operation of the fan relay but also sends a signal to the ECU to optimize engine performance. You could either replace the sensor or troubleshoot the ECT circuit for an electrical problem as described in the service manual.

Yes if the ECU thinks the engine is cold (or possibly hot) due to a faulty reading from the ECT sensor, it will increase the idle. This sensor is screwed into the end of the head under the distributor. It is the one with two wires.

The starting problem may be unrelated, possibly a bad connection or the starter is about to wear out. When they're going out they often begin to click but not start once in a while, it gets worse until it never starts.
