Default Electrical Shock when touching car

My sister has a Civic and whenever she is going to get in her car or get out of it, she gets buzzed. Her car is a 2002. It is a constant problem, not a problem static build up. Shocks me too.

Do any of you have any experience with this problem? Thanks in advance.

Earth yourself before you touch the car, and see if you still get shocked... Check the earths on the car too, to the battery terminal.

Everybody that postedis right. But she won't remember eveytime to ground herself when getting out of the car. Most people are thinking about important stuff like not locking your keys in the car..

This will fix your sisters problem. There are a lot of different contributing factors from the the type of tires to the humidity in the air to the type of synthetic material in your clothes. In this picture the ground strap looks stupid hanging out of the tail end like this. If you mount it up under the center of the car somewhere it won't really be noticable. While driving they kind of quietly flap around, then when you stop it will touch the ground and the car will release all the static charge through it instead of your sister. Been around forever. Lots of older cars used to come with these things right out of the factory.

then just grab the door BEFORE you step out..... then it wont spark your hands....
its a very common issue with just about EVERY car out thier..... thats why your not suposed to fill up gas cans inside your car from static electricity.....

after geting zaped afew times you should learn how to avoid it yourself

for instance when i get outta my civic i have my hand inside the handle and touch the metal screw that holds the cover to the door... and when i step out NO SPARK....
you only get the spark when you have your feet/foot is on the ground and then you reach for the door and touch a metal part which sparks ya.....
