hey guys, i have a question related to the
Evaporative Emissions (EVAP)Control Canister
it is used to store the fuel vapors that escape from places such as the fuel tank
now the question is, will it effect the way the car opperates or drives if it is not wired to the car. i know that the check engine light would be triggerd, but other then that would anything be effected?
im swapping a d16y8 out of a 00 civic EX and putting it into a 98 DX and the wiring harness for the 2000 doesnt have the clip to plug into the Canister. would it work with out being plugged in?

as you said other then the CEL coming on you should not have any driveabilty issues

 

do you think that the ECU would be effected? i mean like would the ECU try and correct it, there for causing a problem? or would it still all function but it just wouldnt be plugged in?
