Emissions Test fail
Firstly I woudl like to point out I had just driven 25 KM and made sure the cat was hot(revved high during shifts, did half of the trip in 4th gear/3500rpm). When I walked in they told me "yeah we can do it in like 10 minutes"
1 hour later they take my car in.
Anyway numbers are as follows
Road Speed Test (ASM2525)
..............limit........reading........Result
HC PPM......75............44........ pass
CO%.........0.42..........0.07.......pass
NO ppm......576.........1163 .......fail
RPM........................ 2779 .......Valid
Dilution.....................14.4.......valid
Curb Idle test
..............limit.....reading.....Result
HC PPM.....200..........81..........pass
CO%........1.00.........0.13........pass
NO ppm.....N/A..........N/A........N/A
RPM .......................772...... Valid
Dilution....................13.5........ valid
Intake is stock, No EGR or AIR injection or any of the other BS emissions crap.
Exhaust is a Megan racing 4-2-1 SS header, Magnaflow Hi-flow/performance catalytic converter and a greddy Cat-back exhaust.
Known Issues
- My primary oxygen sensor is in a bung that only reads cylinder 4, not in the bung that is right before the Catalytic converter where all 4 pipes merge.
- Car runs rich
- car burns small amount of oil (1 litre over 10,000km)
I am going to be buying a sensor extender to properly place the 02 sensor (I have not yet due to laziness) and i believe this will solve the running rich problem.
Any other insights or tips woudl be appreciated.

High NO and low CO and HC means you're running lean. If you've modified something based on the assumption it was too rich, set it back.
Or the mixture could be OK (again, it's definitely not rich) but the cat just isn't doing the job on NO. A stock one could be better. The heat shields on the stock system are important for low emission, to keep the cat hot.

Hrm, well I will place the primary 02 sensor in the proper place and reset the computer (disconnect neg terminal for liek 20 minutes)
Then I will idle it for about 5 then go drive it for 45 minutes, computer Should reset and hopefully change the AFR.
If that dose not help maybe my cat is ****ed. Which ids odd since I just bought it and installed it this year.

Well after some research it seems that if my car is running rich, I may have cooked my catalytic converter.
I will call magnaflow and see if I can get a replacement.
If not I woudl appreciate it if anyone who has or knows of a stock 96-98 Si catalytic converter could hook me up as installing that may fix my problem.
