Engine Bogging

Engine Bogging
So after I did an auto to manual swap my engine bogs now at about 1500 rpm and i ran a code and it was the Idle air control valve. i adjusted to idle and it still bogs at 1500. Anyone know what else I could do to fix this. Thanks

Along with the swap, did you also replace the ECU with an equivalent MT ECU?
What specific CEL code was thrown? Have you reset the ECU (remove 7.5A BACKUP fuse under hood for 1 minute) and then driven the car to see whether the CEL again stays ON?

Does the car drive OK without this "bogging" if you use lower gears and let the engine rev up? Do not try to accelerate at 1500 rpm. Run in a lower gear. Normally you get very little power from a Civic engine below 2000 rpm.

yes i replaced the ecu and i did the fuse removal and the check engine light came back with the same code. i got the code from the DIY thread and its code 14(Idle ACV). and the only time it does the "bogging" is say if im in traffic and im going really slow @1500 then it boggs and jerks like its going to stall.

You have a 99 EX, correct? Do you have an Automatic or manual transmission?
The code indicates a problem with the IACV circuit or the IACV itself. Probably the latter. You may want to try cleaning the IACV first (see forum DIY section).

Yea i have a manual transmission now. i cleaned my IACV but it the IACV for an automatic(because i now have a manual swap) and it does not look the same as the thread on "how to clean the IACV" mine does not have those coolant lines. i dont know if that matters or not. as far as trying to put the old ecu back in, well i sold it and dont have an extra. but i really do appreciate all the help!
