What are you using for fuel management? What turbo kit, how many lbs of boost? If its over 10 psi it is throwin a map sensor.

 

everything is stock but i did have the ecu light come on before the turbo kit only if i drove normally but if i drove it hard then it would not come on. i have just ordered the map sensor check valve link thingy. im only running a 7psi spring in the waste gate

 

Dude, Tell us everything you're running or we have much as a clue as you do.

 

What fuel management are you running?

 

i dont think he is using fuel management as he said everythigns stock besides the turbo. you NEED to get a chipped ecu or some sort of fuel management unit and have it tuned, or else you will blow your engine. your stock ecu's CEL is coming on because the map sensor is picking up boost when there shouldnt be any. you idle is also surging because the fuel map is not setup for boost so your engine is not getting enough fuel and therefore running rough. so, get tuned ASAP.

 

You need a missing link to put between your map sensor....run a 12:1 fmu...and walbro 255fuel punp....any thing above what your running and youll need a ecu set up like hondata or neptune....retard your timing about 1deg per pound of boost....

 

A missing link is a band aid solution. Get a GM 2.5 or 3 bar map sensor. Get a chipped ECU, DO NOT run a 12:1 fmu.......unless you want to ruin your car.

 

i had a 3 bar map sensor but when i fitted it the car would not run. so i should increase the fueling!?!. if i added larger injectors would this increase the fuel or would the ecu still control the amount of fuel going into the engine, i was looking at a set of 440cc injectors but im not sure which type i need as there are lots of variations. eg high and low impedence any help on this would be great as i have no idea. also the hondata ecu's are not cheap over here. whats a cheaper solution.

also im not that bothered about blowing the engine up as i have a replacement a 1989 CRX 1.6 dohc non vtec ZC which i already know that the wiring is different but i would change the whole loom. i have also got forged pistons and eagle h beam rods and acl race bearings for this engine but it would be nice if they fit the d16z6

 

just bought a walbro 255 lph fuel pump can i run this straight away before i get the rest of the parts

 

GET SOME DAMN ENGINE MANAGEMENT!!!!

ecu chipped w/ crome and a tune will definitely help. YOu can't just toss bigger parts at the fuel system and expect it to magically create good AFR's
