Default Engine stumbles

2003 Civic SE, 90K miles

Folks,

J just bought the civic.

Question:

The car starts fine but when I attempt to accelerate in drive the engine stumbles and almost cuts out. At this time if I depress or mash on the accelerator I get almost no response. A few seconds like this and the engine catches up and runs like a top. If I let the car it for a while the whole thing is repeated.

I am doing a complete tune up and SeaFoam.

Any ideas what is causing this? The maintenance required light is on but no CEL.

Thanks very much,

Zill

My guess is that replacing the spark plugs with OEM plugs and doing a Seafoam treatment will solve the problem.

Hey Ron,

Thanks for the reply. The sea foam worked well, I think. Next: the plugs.

ZIll.
