engine swap help b18c1 PLEASE
I aquired (dealer trade) a honda del sol that someone has done a engine swap. It has a b18c1 in it. It also has a hondata p28 black ecu under the dash hanging out and a msd 6a ingition under the hood. I see some type of fuel regulator on thedriver sideof the fuel rail. It has some sensors broke off the throttle body, which I am not sure what they are yet.
The car starts and idles rough and if you give it gas it stalls until it gets warmed up some. After it is warm, from idling, it will rev up to about 3000 rpm, and then it acts like it is hitting a rev limiter. Any ideas?? I ran compression check and cylinders 1,2,& 4 are 260 and cylinder 3 is 240. I see it has aluminum pulleys on the crank and on both cams.
I am a mechanic by trade, I own a muffler shop, but honda engines are foreign to me. It seems to me to be an electronic issue??? I went to msd site and the ignition and distributor are wired correct. I am assuming if it was a timing issue, it would miss like crazy, but it idles ok. Just when revving it up it acts exactly like the rev limiter is kicking in. PLEASE help.

The missing sensors on the throttle body may be the throttle position sensor, IACV, or MAP sensor. Missing any of these could affect the idle.
Is the check engine light (CEL) ON? Normally, when the ignition key is turned ON without cranking the engine, the CEL turns ON for a few seconds then turns OFF. If it stays ON, then a trouble code is stored in the ECU and can be retrieved as described here:

Also, you may be able to download a service manual free here:

No, check engine light is not on. It has a new header, cat-back and o2 sensor installed. I am going to replace the broken/missing sensors. My question is, would those sensor issues cause it to act like it is hitting the rev limiter? My second question is, could something have happened to the hondata ecu or could their be some kind of glitch in the hondata causing that problem?
Someone dumped a ton of cash in this car, and I believe they had no idea how to get this engine swap done correctly, got tired of fooling with it and traded it in. THANKS for your help and input.
