Default enginge stacking?

i have a 1.6 soc non vtec bottom, and i want to put a 1.6 soc vtec head on that block... is this pos to just bolt on and wire up the vtec, or do i need to do somthing with the oil to get it to the head a different way..?

ok so just to be clear...

the car is a 1.6 soc non vtec
i just bought a 1.6 vtec head
and i want to just bolt it on, and get a vtec timer to control my vtec, or i guess i can get the correct ecu, i just need to know if this will work, and what, or how to do it..

You'll have to pull the oil restrictor orifice out of the oil passage in the back center of the block where it meets the head. Then the VTEC head will get the full oil pressure that it needs to work.
