ever forget to install the side motor mount
whoops -- got my timing belt cover and crank pulley and accessory belts all back on ('cept steering pump), and then realized I hadn't installed the little bracket that mounts to the head and pokes through the timing belt cover's hole to provide a mounting point for the upper side motor mount. Anyone else ever done this? Dammit!

I did swap a '95 engine into my '91 and then realize the mount was different and had to replace it. Really there's no reason to remove that piece in the first place unless you're putting the engine into a different car like I was or trading in the head for a rebuilt one.
If you're just taking the head off to replace the head gasket, leave everything attached to it: manifolds, sensors, etc. Some people don't even bother to remove the lower timing cover, just slacken the belt and take the cam pulley off.
