Default Flat Tire Repair

I need to repair, if possible, a tire. I read the owner's manual and it said do not use puncture inhibitors. If you do, then damage to the TMPS in the tire will result. So, my question is does this mean I can not have the hole in the tire plugged? If it can be plugged can an independent repair shop do it, or does Honda have special materials that must be used?

That basically means don't use that canned fix-a-flat stuff or it'll mess up the tire pressure sensor. Independent shops usually use a plug to fix a hole.
