Default front brake question

Today I changed the front rotors and the brake pads with premium carbon ceramic pads on my honda civic 2000. The problem is the inside pads are very tight where they fit into the clips of the holder. Is this normal and if not what should be done about it? TIA

You are suppose to use a C-clamp to compress the caliper piston before taking anything apart.

You remove the master cylinder reservoir lid and then compress the caliper with the C-clamp. This provides extra room for the now thicker pads. When you push the pedal after installation, the caliper will clamp down and any gap between the caliper and pad will be eliminated.

Did you do this?
