Gas gauge broken
Hey all,
Nice forums here. I am a 4x4 guy, new to the civic scene. Actually just borrowing a friends 86 crx si (might buy it, can't decide) and I put gas in it this morning and now the gas gauge doesn't work. It was reading just above the red line when I stopped, and now it is well below there, just sitting. My question is, is this a common problem with an easy fix (that would be nice) or has this happened to any of you before? Is there a fuse for just the fuel gauge? On my pathfinder the fuse is for the whole panel so all the gauges would have died. Is there an easy way to get to the sending unit without dropping the tank? Any help would very much appreciated.

Thanks ngoti8tor. Well, it turns out his gauge is broken, and only reads if there is less than half a tank. So he already knew about it, and as soon as it drops below half a tank, the gauge will pop back up and read correctly. Wonder what could cause that? Because as I brake to a stop, the gauge tries to come back up, but falls back down as soon as I actually stop. Hmm. I think I am just car cursed.
