Default General info ?.

My brother just gave me his old comuter car to play with. It's a 97 Civic DX. The vin # is jhmej6520vs014071. I am trying to find out anything Ic an about it so I can figure out a good palce to start playing with it. I'm pretty sure that it has th 1.6l in it. From what I've read so far there isn't much out for this. Is there a better engine I can swap in for it that won't require alot of modifications? All my experience is with american muscle. Right now I have a 67 Cougar xr7 that I've had since 88 and have completely restored. My brother is into the import cars so I decided to try it out. In other words, I know nothing of the import cars. So Any info on good sites, what to look for, etc would be much appreciated. Thanks all and take care.

for ease of application like you said you were looking for a b series would be best, relatively cheap, reliable, and easily installed a k series would be a whole other world for someone just getting into the honda world.

The B18B is a pretty good choice if you don't want to spend alot of money, its a good turbo motor. B18C5s don't come cheap.
