Default getting a code 16, how should i proceed?

Ok, i have a 1991 civic lx, with the dual port system.
I want to do some fuel injector checking, and just picked up a couple from a car at a junkyard to use as backups.
What would be the best way to correctly diagnose if my current fuel injectors are functioning 100% correctly.
Could some one also tell me the correct way to remove injectors.
The 2 i took from the boneyard were kind of tough to get out, so i put a channel lock, and gently pulled and twisted on the plastic connector till they loosened up, and i was able to pull them out by hand.
Anyone with a step by step on how to check if the injector is functioning properly , please share that with me. Thank you.!!!.
