Default Getting Rims Off...

I was hoping someone could help me figure out how to get tires off of a car thats already lifted up off the ground. The Lugnuts werent loosened before it was lifted and now when the lugnuts are spun the whole tire spins. Theres a local you pull you pay junkyard that puts all the cars up on stands and some lugnuts on some cars were loosened before being put up but most werent. You can pull the rims/tires and buy them but i couldnt get the ones i needed off as the tires just spun and spun and spun. Any help would be appreciated. Theres no way to bring the car back down to the ground off its stands so thats not an option

Have someone else hold the tire while you try & get the lugnuts off?

Find someone with an electric impact gun? Get a crow bar and someone else to hold the wheel still? Hit the brakes? Drop the car enough to get enough weight on the tires? Not really rocket science.

Sounds like you need to discuss the siutation with the owners of the pick n' pull. Seems to me putting the cars in the air with the lugs tight is probably a theft prevention technique

I talked to them about it and all the lugnuts are supposed to be loosened before putting them out in the lot but I guess the workers dont feel like doing it sometimes.

I tried the ebrake and holding down the brakes but still spins, the brakes might have been disconnected before (i didnt check). I'll have to try everything else listed here in a day or 2 when i go back. Thanks

On the front wheels you could put a pipe wrench on the axle to hold it, assuming it is still there.
