Guess what, She's Whinin'!
95 CX Hatch, D15B7, Si tranny, just completely built the entire front end of the car today, ran it earlier and it ran fine, high idle but thats nothing out of ordinary. kind of sounds like its coming from the alternator? good throw out bearing, not coming from throttle body, check for a vaccume leak tomorrow that might be causing it but all i did to make it start whining was change the axles, struts (dropped it), an all the control arms in between, ball joints, tie rods etc. and removed the throttle body to hook up a brake line, any idears?

It makes noise when the car is not moving? Did you refill the transmission? If you hear noise from the transmission idling in neutral that goes away when you press the clutch, bearings in the transmission are bad. You can also take the accessory belts off and start the engine see if the noise is still there. A slight "whirring" noise from the timing belt is normal especially if it is new. Over-tightening the timing belt will make it loud. Never press down on the tensioner when setting the tension, let the spring do it because it's designed for the right amount.
