Default Hard Starting

My '05 Civic EX (62,000 miles) recently started having trouble starting after sitting overnight. If the car sits more than 8 -10 hours it takes longer to crank over. It used to crank 2-3 times and start but now it takes 5-6 cranks and sometimes stumbles to start. Once the car is started it runs fine, no hesitiation, no idle issues. If the car is started/stopped frequently it starts right up.Temperature doesn't seem to affect it, it has sat overnight @ 35 F or at work all day @ 65 F it willtakemore cranks to start the longer it sits.Anyone with a similar issue or thoughts?

Might be the starter or the battery that is old

I agree with Cyberx32 if the engine cranking seems a bit slow. Otherwise, you might want to test whether the fuel pressure is low -- possible clogged fuel filter.

possible answer: all of the above. At that mileage and age, all of the above items might need to be changed. I would check in the following order.

1. Pull out the battery and have it checked at an autoparts store. If the battery cannot hold a charge, then I'd get a new one. (I'm not sure if your battery is bad since it's only been 4 yrs but you never know; my original battery lasted 7 yrs).
2. If the battery is good, then replace the spark plugs (they should be replaced every 30k miles). Get the ngk plugs they are cheap and they are OEM plugs.
If neither of option 1 or 2 fixes it, then you might have to do some more investigating.
