Default header to downpipe gasket, stripped threads

Okay so the gasket blew, then I bought a new one to replace it, and I had lost the nuts. So i went to the hardware store and i thought i got the correct threading and everything but I didn't, and when i tried to tighten them so that the gasket can seal, they stripped the threads on the bolt. I have one of the nuts tightened down all the way so it still holds, but the seal isn't that great. How can i get the nuts tightened so they stay? I really am not sure what to do, I don't wanna have to buy new headers.

Im not a 100% on this. but u mite be able to rethread the bolts. I would get a new one. Or go to the junk yard and get one then rebuild it. If u didnt wont to spend a lot of money.

If its the stock cast iron manifold, the studs should unscrew out of it and can be replaced (buy new ones at an auto parts store not hardware store). IDK about an aftermarket header.

if the stud is welded, you can cut it then drill out the stud and install new stud and bolt on the one you stripped. Easy fix..

Post a picture if you can. Like the other guy said, welded studs you can grind off flat and drill a new hole, then either tap for a new stud or use a bolt and nut.

I'll post a picture tomorrow, but I'm thinking my best bet would be to grind them down, then just drill new holes and use bolts and nuts. I think it'll hold the gasket in there sealed well enough.
