header question

ive got two civics on my 98 2dr its my runner and it has a d16y7. on my 99 there is a d16z6 and it has a dc header on it wich i want to take off and put on my 98 will that work

what 98 model do you have? Yes, the header will atleast bolt onto the block, mid-pipe line up might be questionable, but i think D series exhaust manifold bolt patterns are pretty universal. If its a d16y7, the header on the 98 will delete the cat, but if its an EX you should be fine.

Do you have the stock exhaust manifold on the 98? Check and look at it and if theres a big bulge in it, thats the catalytic converter, in which case you'd need to have a unviersal cat welded somewher ein the exhaust to keep it emissions legal (the new header won't do anything for emissions)

the motor thats in the 99 is not the original motor by the looks of it. somebody put the vtec in it without the vtec ignition and i think they fried the motor

does the 99 have a d16z6 in it? If so then no thats definitely not hte original engine, they stopped putting them into cars about 95.

yeah thats the motor. somebody didnt do a very good job of installing it. when we did a compression check all the cylinders varied alot
