Default Heated Headers

Ok, about 2 weeks ago my full exhaust system got stolen off my car (headers, cat, catback). And there are two suspects. One of which I saw thier car today, and they had the same exact brand headers as I am missing (Megan Racing) on thier car. Now before you assume he bought them, his cars not in the best of shape, and again before you think sleeper, he was complaining about how his hood wouldnt stay latched. Heres the problem though, although the look the same, there is one differance. The headers I got were stainless steel, and shiny like chrome. His have all kinds of colors. What I was wondering if that is because they got heated up? Or do they come like that?

*EDIT* My car was really never running long enough to heat up the headers. Forgot to mention that.

Stainless will turn brown / yellow and possibly a little blue after it has been heated up once.
