Default Heater Problem - 2002 Civic

During an idle, regardless of how long the car has been running, the heater will not blow hot air, jus cold air. As soon as the car begins accelerating, the heater begins to blow warm air.

My first idea is to drain the radiator and flush. Any other suggestions?

Check whether your coolant level is low. Examine level by removing radiator cap after engine has cooled. Top off coolant level if necessary.
