I have a 93 EX and it does the same. Also had a 03 LX and my aunt has a 01 LX...all 3 cars do the same thing. I also asked my local dealer, Ohio Valley Honda about that and they said that is normal. Nothing is wrong with you guys' cars....this is normal!!

All cars have some way of putting fresh air into the cabin, its just some dont put it through the vents like that. It will also be a lot more noticeable if you have your windows cracked open, or your sunroof tilted up because this makes the pressure unequalized so more air gets sucked in through the vents. Its perfectly normal everycar I have ever had/been in has a way to put fresh air into the cabin.

Hi,
On my '96, it's the same way. It doesn't matter what the selector is on (defrost, floor, head and floor), air is always coming from the sides. It's always been likethat. But the side vents have their own thumb wheel to close just that vent.

I heard it's to help people from accidentally getting carbon monoxided to death. If your car had a bad enough exhaust leak and you were on a long enough drive, you could really get fried. Some cars even when you turn everything off the fan will still run on low to bring inair.I read it somewhere long time ago.. Protect the unknowing, and small kids, etc.
