ok another thing that i noticed was that you can (and it is an automatic) start in first and drive and go though the gears as if it was an manual and for the most part it has no problems what so ever.??? this is becoming a real PITA lol... any suggestions?

When I try to start my 1990 Civic 1.5 w/ dual point injection, the primary injector is going full-bore. And even if it starts it keeps dumping fuel. I have checked all sensors and even swapped out the ECU and the distributor, but no change. Could it be the injector is stuck open? Engine has over 200K miles on it. Anyone here had this problem and corrected it. I want to be sure as the part is about $140 to buy. Thanks!
Two things:
1) You say it overheated. That could have caused valve or other problems.
2) You say you cut the cat off. That will change the computers settings. You should be getting a CEL from that.
Sounds to me like it is time to find a good mechanic and get a proper diagnosis.

I'm very suprised that no one has mentioned the timing belt. --- VERY VERY VERY common problem. 200k on the motor, it's probably about that time. Your honda could be dynamically out of time. If you have any mechanical skills whatsover, I would suggest looking that over. The crankshaft pully will have three marks lined up just like this " ||| ", and the timing belt cover will have a small plastic "tit" sticking off of it with two more plastic **** for guides. You should line up the middle line on the crankshaft pulley with the guide that is on the timing cover. You'll also need to remove the valve cover and take the top end of the timing belt off and adjust the cylinder head pulley so the two horizontal lines are parralell with the top of the cylinder head. The pulley has an "up" mark to distinquish which side is which, This way you can't be 180 out. The metal piece on your rotor button should be facing the #1 Cylinder when this is all finished and lined up.
On my 89 1.5l, you can actually accomplish all of this with the wheels on the ground, and some simple tools. 10 mm for the valve cover, 14 mm for the tensioner pulley, 17 mm for the crankshaft pulley, and a screwdriver or rubber mallet to break the seal from valve cover to cylinder head. Turn your wheels hard left to be able to get in to the crankshaft pulley.
Hope this helps. Searh the forum for pics if you need em.
P.S. Could be your torque converter if you have NO problems while shifting manualy. You said that it for the most part drives okay. It either does, or it doesnt. ;D Also, mine runs like DOO DOO and I still get like 16mpg, and that's doggin on it. If I were nicer to it I could probably squeeze 22 mpg (running like crap).

A 95 non-vtec 1.5 engine's o2 sensor is in the exhaust manifold, I know cause that same engine is in my hatch. It sounds like you have a injector stuck open to me. As for throwing a code for having no catalitic, you don't because when I went throught and did my exhaust didn't put a cat in and I'm not throwing a code. Maybe for a OBD2 you would cause those are more tempermental.
An obd2 system only throws a CEL if its an emissions related problem. Catylic Converter missing = Emissions related problem. Obd1 Check Engine light is usually irrelivent for emissions testing. OBD3 Coming soon!
When checking if the timing belt is in time, use the single mark on the crank pulley, not the group of 3. The single mark is TDC of the engine and the group of three are 8, 10 and 12 degrees BTDC used to set the spark timing.
To check for stuck injector, unplug the wires to the injector and crank the engine, if any gas comes out it is stuck open.

ok of something for nothing, ive changed the t stat and water pump = no more over heating, now i can put the gas all the way to the floor and it revs up all lil but it just sounds like you a loud *** exhaust on a 80,000lbs dumptruck and 10hpand engine. ive changed plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, fuel pump. and im not the one who put the water pump on so i dont know if when they put everything back together they got it times right or not, and sometimes when u first start it, if u even attempt to rev it up it stutters and dies, over ive you run itsomewhat hard and come to a dead stop it will kill oer and have to be started again, I dunno whats the dealio herebut this thing is robbing me and my bank... any other suggestions now that ive givin everyone an update lol???
andanother thing, this thing has MASSIVE amounts ofcarbon build up inm the throttle body.... I mean MAAAASSSSSSIIIIIIVVVVVEEEEEE
