help after someone tried to steal car.
Okay, I have a 92' civic hatchback (dx?).. nothing fancy but it gets me around just fine. I went outside this morning to find that someone apparantly tried to steal my car since the window was broken and the plastic below the wheel was broken to expose the wires beneath. I'm not great with wiring but I know a little. It looks like they gave up since the car was still there and they had ripped off all the wires (5 of them) attached to the ignition and twisted some of them together. I don't have the money to fix this right now (the shop I called said it would be about 3-4 hundred) and was hoping someone could help me as to which wires go where so I can solder them back to the plastic ignition thing? or which ones to touch to get it started at least. The keys of course are useless since the wires are no longer attactched to the ignition. any help in the right direction would be appreciated. Here are some more facts: there are 5 wires (one white striped one, bigger than the other four) and a round plastic peice where they seem to have been attached to which fits into the left side under the wheel, this I assume is where normal operation of the key starting the car would take place. Touching the white wire to one of the others will turn the car over but it only started once and when I let go of the wires it stopped instantly. I wish I knew more about this but I don't and I'm pretty pissed. any help I'd appreciate.
