Default HELP!!!!! Alarm and Trim Question

I just bought my girlfriend a 2002 Civic LX. For Christmas I was going to install a factory keyless and alrm system...

Problem is that Honda discontinued the keyless system, but still sell the larm. To make matters worse the keyless is required if you want the alarm... Sigh...

Ok... I found a system for the 2001-2005 Civic VP Civic.

What is the difference between the VP and the LX?

Also does anyone doubt the factory alarm/keyless system for the Civic VP will work on the LX?

Just buy an aftermarket alarm system, they are prolly better than the factory stuff anyway.

The main reason for wanting a stock system is it's ease of installation. Also factory alarms tend to last the lifetime of the car, as opposed to an aftermarket unit. I talked to a friend of mine who owns a shop and he figures the wiring should be about the same...
