help! changing timing belt 1.5l

Default help! changing timing belt 1.5l

help please, stepdaughter has civic hatch back timing belt is bad. I cannot get the lower pulley off, no way to hold pulley while trying to back off bolt. need to do this to remove lower cover. car has an automatic transmission. anyone with idea's?

if you are talking about the large bolt in the center of the harmonic balancer -- the easiest way is with an impact wrench, air or electric, it imparts a series of hammer blows to the bolt head instead of a rotating motion from a ratchet or breakover

if you don't have an air compressor and air impact you might be able to rent an electric impact from your local rental house or Home Depot -- you also might check with your neighbors, one of them may have a compressor on wheels he can roll over and help you -- you know "car guys" we are always up for a project at someone else's house
