Hi, I’ve got a 2000 HX, few days ago the Check Engine Light on, checked from Advance Auto with Code “P1491”. I don’t felt any losing power or abnormal stuff when I was driving, but noticed the idle speed was 600 when Air/C on, it should be 700 or so.

I’ve lost the original gas cap, replaced by an aftermarket one, which suppose for 2000 Civic though about 6 months ago. Not sure if that’s an issue? The dealer ask $85 for checking only and said would be anywhere from $200 to $3000 to fix. Please help, what that code means; any comments will be greatly appreciated.

 

call autozone and they should be abale to tell you what the code is. or what it means

 

problem resolved - due to after-market fuel cap lossing, it needs to be clicked 12 times in order to be tight!
