Default HELP HEAD LIGHTS TROUBLE HELP

Okay first of all I have a 89 civic LX, my first problem, is that my High Beams Keep Burning Out... I have replaced them 3 times in the last month.
They will start filckering, get bright blue/purple, then go out..... The second issue is the every time I need my headlights on, I have to wait anywhere from 2-5 minutes for them to turn on, after I turn on the swith, As if they need to warm up or something.
PLEASE HELP

Are these stock bulbs or HID?

Are just the filaments blowing or do the bulbs break? Don't touch the glass of the bulbs when replacing them, if you have a fingerprint on the bulb it will cause it to weaken and blow out in a short time. Handle them only by the plastic base.

Also check your voltage at the battery with the engine running. Too much voltage will blow bulbs and other stuff too.

Well For the "sounds like a Cheap HID KIT" comment. These are OEM replacements!
The Filaments just keep breaking, I am careful not to touch them, or let them touch anything on the way in.

In that case do as mk378 said, and check the voltage going to the headlights. Sounds like too mush voltage blowing these things out. If there is a headlight relay, you may want to check that as well, it may be why the low beams don't come on right away

I don't think there's a relay, if it's the same as a '91 there's a main fuse under the hood that feeds the light switch on the column. From there the power goes thru four 10A fuses under the dash (one for each bulb) to the bulbs.

Also as far as the bulbs not coming on it could be where they're grounded up near the headlights.
