I have a 1997 Civic EX & i noticed it sounded like my battery was about to die so i took it in to be tested. the battery was bad, so they put a new one in, but said that it isn't charging properly and their is a drop in voltage. What does this mean? Does anyone have any recommendations as to where i can take it in the Los Angeles/Orange County area?

it might be your alternator... thats what actually charges your battery.

 

I concur... Sounds like your alternator as I doubt that a new battery would collapse a cell that quickly.... take it into a mech and they should be able to test it and tell ya what the go is...

call your local part store ask they normally can check your alt. and battery while still on the car if you have an autozone or advance auto parts i know they check it take your car in and tell them you need your charging system chcked and they will do it for free

 

I agree. Taking it to the local parts store is the simplest way to diagnose problems like this. Def do that.
