Default Help my Civica!

My 1992 Civic 4D LX Automatic is sick.

When idle the RMP drops below 1000 almost choking out and revs way up to a little over 3000. This keeps cycling. I got a clean IACV from the junkyard and this problem still accrues. What is my next move?

Old and newish IACV

Anyone know what these two holes are for?

And where the hell does this fit onto?

On the first pix.. there a hose connect to where the fingers are pointing to, so you are correct on that one.

On the second pix, that a water hose connect to a valve directly beneath to your throttle flap then it connect to your IACV as on the second unit (below) the one on your first pix at the left water tube on the IACV.

Hope this help.

Thank you but I have no idea what you're saying. I'm a simple man so I painted a picture.

QUESTION: What are these hoses called so I can go buy them?

You can just use generic fuel line hose for the little water hoses to the IACV and other parts on the manifold. With that hose disconnected, coolant should pour out of it, so I'd be concerned about lack of coolant and overheating. Check in the radiator not just the plastic tank. Lack of coolant will cause unsteady idling.

Check if you remove any other hose and maybe forgot to reinstall, is your idle surging from choking then automatically goes up to 3k rpm??

I unplugged 3 and put three back. Still don't know where the fourth goes. And yes it damn near chokes completely out then revs up. Well it use to. Now after resetting the IACV while the car was on it is idling rough. I have not been to work all week.

That is a bypass water hose connect to a valve under the throttle, then the other end is another hose that connect to your IACV
