High Idle after Throttle Body cleaning... HELP!!!

Default High Idle after Throttle Body cleaning... HELP!!!

Okay... i have a 97 honda civic DX, took off the throttle body and cleaned it with STP Carb cleaner. Now... after putting back on my car idle is high like if I take off the gas pedal and car goes forward pretty fast lol. Need help... I know its not a vacumm leak cause I checked it 3 times and all great. should I lower the idle control thats on the throttle? please help me!

im not sure what your problem is but i wouln't have used carb cleaner i would have used throttle body cleaner personally

check the butterfly flap to see if its closing all the way. give it a little assistance to close. any improvement? have you also tried to loosen up your throttle cable a little.

Like 94 said, make sure that the throttle plate closes all the way. Unless someone has been messing with it before, do not adjust the screw that stops the throttle lever. It should have been factory adjusted so the throttle plate just closes all the way, but doesn't slam against the side of the throttle body.

On an automatic, I don't know if the procedure to adjust the air screw (not the one I was talking about above) with the IACV disconnected still applies.
