Hey all

First off I haven't posted in a looooong time but something regarding my car has been on my mind and I thought I would ask about it. I hope I chose the right section to ask this in.

My 2007 Honda Civic EX is due for the 30,000 mile Maintenance/Tune Up/Whatever it's called. Actually I'm a little past the due time by about 3,000 miles. Money has been tight so we couldn't get it done sooner. In fact, money is STILL tight, and since this thing I need to get done costs I'm told like $400, that's why I am here.

My first question is, does it really even need to be done? My paranoid thinking is about my 6 year warranty I have, and I worry that if I don't do these scheduled Maintenance it voids my warranty or something. Is that even true?

Can this kind of tune up be done somewhere else, and does it still "count?" I realize that is a stupid question, but I had to ask.

I'll say that overall my car hasn't had any problems, other than the radio controls on the steering wheel not working and a visor broke, but it's ran fine engine wise since the day I got it. Recently I have noticed that I have to press the brake more to stop though.

I'm not a DIY person for cars. Might as well get that out of the way. =)

Who here has actually paid the full price for the 30k tune up? HOw necessary is it?
