Default Honda Civic 2003 EX Sedan EVAP code 1457

Hi there,

New to the forums and to fixing my own car.

I had the EVAP code 1457 show up on my car about a month ago right as I was due for inspection. I went to Auto Zone and that was the code they told me. I then used my dads OBD scanner to confirm. I changed my gas cap as a cheap and easy possible 10$ fix. I then used the scanner to reset all my codes and now the EVAP Test is showing INC. Can I go get my inspection while it says INC? How long does it take to reset? Is there anything I can do to speed this up?

Thank you!
Ryan

You have to drive about 20 miles I think to clear the "not ready" code. Resetting the codes or disconnecting the battery will make it "not ready" again.

Thank you mk378! After driving about that far going to/from work it did reset to the 1457 EVAP code again unfortunately.
