Default Honda civic 2005

I just changed out the ignitioin cylinder and the new key isn't reading. So I go to a dealer? And how much would that run? Any alternative methods?

1) You're posting this in the wrong area.
2) I got a new key made at a dealer for my 2005 civic. It was $75. Walmart and Lowes can't replicate our keys for cheap because of the way they have three layers.
