Default Honda Gods do no longer love thy!

i am starting a new post to keep this simple.

read original thread if you want - https://www.hondacivicforum.com/foru...ad.php?t=79200

summary....
All the work done to the car since 2005

* CV Joints/Boots-05
* Head & Gasket-05
* Radiator & Cap-05
* Control Arms-06
* Tires-06
* Brake Pad & Shoes-08
* Drums & Rotors-08
* Master Cylinder-08
* Alignment-08

All work in 09

* Starter
* Radiator Cap
* ECU
* New Distributor
* All New Hoses
* Plug Wires
* New Muffler
* Serpentine Belt
* Shifter Bushing
* Short Shifter
* Timing Belt
* Water Pump
* Oil Pan
* Oil, Filter & Coolant
* Air & Fuel Filter
* ECT Switch
* Head & Gasket...yes another one..i suck
* Thermostat & Gasket
* Spark Plugs
* Throttlebody

its almost a year later and about 2 months ago, the car started losing coolant again, boiling over into the overflow, (with a little oil in it..... or so it looks like)

It only ran hot once so far. pulled over right away.

we check and fill coolant before every trip(which are all very short) 10 min or so.

Here are my plans:
I am going to buy this Gasket Kit

I'm also going to replace the radiator cap once again as it has gone the way of the dodo - OEM Cap

I will Install all new gaskets and the cap, with genuine Honda coolant.
Your thoughts?

Should I finally test the block.. this has never been done? is that a pressure test or a compression test?

Neither of those items you gave links for are not available when I clicked on the links. If it is a sealer you are looking for K-Seal is the best I have found. Also Napa has a block sealer that is expensive $65 but cheaper than replacing a head. At least it might get you some more time driving it.

Timing light #1 cyl. Front of Engine drivers side on my 90 Civic. Engine running line up the marks as described.
Timing light is a strobe light of sorts. It will look as if the engine is stopped.

^^^^^^^Is this related to the block test?

I don't think I''ll need to replace the head.. I just put one on 10 months ago. I don't do sealers.. I like to fix the problem.

How do I test the block. Basically... How can I find out exactly what my problem is so I can fix it once and for all. As you can see i have done a lot of work and I am now out of Ideas. Thanks in advance for help.

Get the radiator completely full. Start the engine cold with the cap off. If you get a steady stream of bubbles in the radiator when you rev the engine, there is likely a leak in the head gasket.
