Well...first off, if you have a 4speed you dont have DX, it is a STD

NKG sparkplugs were the best in my opinion, the give better combustion then the bosch and even helped my car pass smog...

On the wires, i think you will be fine with oem, the ones you posted, or what ever.

Im running Duralast (auto zone brand) spark plug wires and I have never had a problem with them. I could just be lucky though.

good luck!

The DX did not come with a four speed transmission, it came with a 5 speed.

you can take a look at your engine code

If it says D15B1 its a STD if it say D15B2 its a DX

i was looking at this:

http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/sp...mp;model=Civic

and under valve/valve configuration it says 16/dohc for the hatchback and 12/sohc for the dx.
so my car only has 70 hp? is that to the ground or is it like 60 to the ground?

oh i forgot to mention on the top of my engine it says 16 valve so i guess it aint a dx. then y does it say that on my hatch?

The engines are going to look identical.

here is a picture of my old engine. I have the Std

one question for you though...do you have an automatic or a manual transmission, becuase if you have an automatic then you do have a dx, i just figured those are rare and you had a manual transmission.

its right where the transmission meets the block...it is probably covered in grease since your car is going on 20 years old. try looking for a flat square looking thing, ill take a picture when i get home.
