Hood Latch
I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX sedan. Oddly enough, a couple days ago, I got to a 100K miles, and even though I haven't had a bit of problems with it prior to it, a couple things just cropped right up.
First thing I noticed was that my car was sounding like the battery was going bad, turning over kindof slow, sounding weak etc when i turned the key. I pulled the terminals off and cleaned them, and it helped a little bit, I just have to wait till tomorrow to get paid so I can get a new battery.
When I got done cleaning the terminals, I noticed that when I closed my hood the primary latch wasn't holding the hood down like it should.
Basically, when I close the hood, even when I push it down manually, the primary latch isn't hold it down for long, it just pops back up, where the manual release latch holds it. Does anyone have any idea what may have caused something like that? Or maybe, how I could fix it?
Worst case scenario I guess is that I have to go and try to figure out how to pull the same latch from a scrap yard, in that case, how hard would it be to trade them out?
Thanks!

You can adjust the hood latch. Loosen the bolts and raise it up a bit. If you feel like cleaning it, remove the bolts, remove the cable, then soak the latch in some degreaser.
I wouldn't get another used one because it's probably going to be just as dirty as yours.

I work on call, and I was getting in the car after messing with the hood latch for a little bit, when I noticed that the release on the cabin of the car was actually stuck in the half open half closed position. So I pushed it back to where it is supposed to be, and the latch is allowing it to close now.
-shrugs- apparently it was way simpler than I thought, and I am just retarded : - )
Thanks alot though!
