horn problem please help!
Ok i tested my horn and it works fine and fuse is very good to because if it wasn't my brake lights wont come on which they do. My srs light has been on for a while and i disconnected it to be safe, but my horn still wont work. if i can reset my srs so the light doesn't come on will that make my horn work? Is there a way to reg it up some how? NO clue where to start? Its a stock 95 civic dx. I know my clock spring is bad, but i just need a horn. HELP Please leaving for a trip in two days!
The horn needs the clock spring too. It connects the button on the wheel to the rest of the car.
The SRS light is on because the SRS module has detected an open circuit to the driver's air bag due to the broken clock spring. Unless you replace the clock spring, there is no way the air bag is going to open in a crash. That may or may not be a bad thing.
You can rig the horn by putting another horn button on a stationary part of the dash or column (not the wheel). Grounding the blue/green wire to the clock spring will make the horn sound.
