Default how can I tell if my exhaust is leaking

I am wondering what a leak sounds like when its very minimal compared to a bad leak. I am not sure if i am leaking but when i accelerate the air flow sounds like some is escaping, i dono maybe im trippin. At first i thought it was my intake but im positive that it isnt unless a cat back exhaust can make your intake suck in more air but im car illiterate so i dont know

any how, do leaks eventually lead to bad problems if unfixed, if so how bad are we talking dmg wise

do you have an aftermarket exhaust? if so, ive heard that a lot times itll leak behind the cat. thats what happened with mine. It might be a good idea to have a friend or family member to help look for it

The water dripping from the resonator could be damage when you went over the speed bump but the water it's nothing bad...All cars will leak water from end of the exhaust it's normal when you turn on the car when it's cold and it starts leaking...Since you hit the resonator more likely it's just leaking through there and it doesn't make it all the way through the exhaust. Just take a look if it's bad replace it [&:]

alright im pretty much car illiterate. Could you please explain the valve tap and how to fix it as if you were talking to someone that doesnt even know what something under the hood looks like. I dont know if my exhaust is leaking but it feels good when i drive and sounds good. I thought i heard like strange noises but i was prob trippin, i could of sworn that some of air sounded like i dont know..dry? i know that makes no sense but if you had the same problem maybe you will understand. Also, when i hit the speed bump, im positive it was my u bolt that was upside down because the bolt was scratched

im so sick of car problems right now that i just want to settle and leave everything as is, i cant worry to much about my car right now because i have to worry about school. the thing is that when i worry about my car it makes it so hard to concentrate in class >

to check for an exhaust leak , start the car up , have a friend hold a rag over the tailpipe to plug it up for a few seconds at a time , then you try to get under the car & listen or feel around the pipes for a leak, but be careful it maybe hot

If your "ticking" noise is very loud that may be valve tap. The valves are hitting their seats harder than normal because they are needing to be adjusted. It's a quick job at the Honda dealer, but before you assume it's that you need to listen for where the sound is coming from. If you hear it from the very top of the engine that may be valve tap.
