Default Hydrolocked my d16y7-Need motor advice

I am looking at either getting another d16y7, or a d16y8- I am on a budget- about $2000 total for the install and all parts needed. Of course I would love to have a dual cam, but my budget will not allow that. I see the real difference between the y7 and y8 is a 20 hp- I would like more torque in the motor I get. Anybody have any ideas or help for me for a good swap. I am also having a hard time finding a motor that I trust the person on the other end of the phone. Thank you.

Yup. Any suggestion or ideas for any help. I was thinking about a CRV engine for the torque?!?!?!?!

What are you planning on doing, towing a boat? If you're hungry for torque, I'd say buy a truck. I could give you my suggestions, but there are guys that know more about the cost and performance aspect of this stuff than I do.

I realize that horsepower is great but torque is also great. Torque helps get you going. I would love to hear anything any body has to offer. Thank you for your time and let me know what you think.

2000 is a big enough budget for an SiR (b16a). it wont give you that much more tq but it will give you a lot of power. you can get the swap itself for 1.7k and the only mount you need to change is teh rear one (that you can pull out of a 99-00 SI). you could also look at the b18b...it has a few horses over the b20 and about as much tq...plus its an engine with much more potential. again all you need is the rear mount from a 99-00 Si. its also a lot easier to find complete swaps for the 16s and 18s than the 20s...and generally speaking the b18b will be cheaper than a b20.
