I think when you press in the clutch you are putting some load on the engine

Actually, you are releasing the load when press clutch down. Wat year is the car and does it idle ok?

What you are saying makes little sense. It is extremely rare for a car to do what you say. For the engine to stall when you press the clutch down would take a very rare sort of major mechanical problem, which would also make a lot of noise.

How are you starting the car without pressing the clutch down? The starter should not work unless the clutch pedal is pressed to the floor.

While you have the transmission in neutral, does it matter if you press the clutch or not?

^I concur entirely- this sounds like a very bizarre issue indeed. I was initially inclined to suggest that perhaps the OP's throw out bearing is kaput because that happened to me once in my old Civic. However, you DO need the clutch to start the car unless you hot-wire it. (outside of Crime Syndicate movies, does anyone even know how to do that? ) We definitely need more information before we can help diagnose the problem..

^ very easily. look at clutch pedal where it attaches to the assembly. You should see a sensor with two wires. Pull the wires out and connect them to eachother. Solder and wrap.

Yeah it happens when its in neutral. When I press the clutch in it starts to rub and I'm starting to believe its my pressure plate.

So you hear a lot of noise? It's either the throwout bearing (which will tear up the pressure plate, might as well change the whole clutch set) or it could also be the thrust bearing in the engine. Have someone watch the crank pulley see if the crankshaft moves from end to end (side to side in the car) when the clutch is pressed. If the sheet metal cover on the bottom is almost touching the flywheel you could get noise from it when pressing the clutch pedal down, that could also be because the thrust bearing is bad and letting it touch.
