Default I NEED HELP! CIVIC WON'T STAY ON

Hello! My wife has a 2002 Civic LX with the 1.7l. The problem is that the car won't turn on unless i accelerate it. Once its on and i let go of the gas it turns back off. The car will stay on if i keep accelarating it. What could this be? This already happened once a couple months back and went away. Thanx

I thin you're saying it will run if you keep pressing the gas but it won't idle. That probably means the idle air control valve is stuck closed. It's kind of an expensive part but you can try cleaning it first instead of replacing.

take off your Idle Controll Sensor (air valve)its located in the back ofyour intake manifold. there should be 2 bolts and 2 lines and a eletric plug . Were is pluged in it's a round cylinder black shape.
****Try to clean it 1st.. Go to any auto parts store and tell them you want a cleaner to clean your Idle control sensor air valve.*** Let me know????
