Default IAC problem??

Hopefully someone can help me out. I just got a 93 civic stick shift and it wants to turn off on me. When i stop at a red light and it turns green it takes off very slow and almost turns off. My mechanic said it was the Idle Air Control valve. I replaced the IAC but it still continues...

What else could it be?

If it stalls when you are pressing the gas pedal trying to drive off, that is not an idle problem. The IACV keeps the engine going when it is in neutral or clutch pressed down, and not pressing the gas.

Should probably check the timing first.
