Default Idle help, plz

Hi, i have a d15b2 in my 89 hatch. i have a question about my idle. sometimes when i put in my clutch it will idle at the normal 800, but sometimes it will idle at about 2500-3000. im not pumping the brake or touching the throttle when this happens. sometimes it does it, sometimes it dont. does anyone know what this could be?

You may have a faulty clutch pedal switch.

Sticky throttle cable maybe? If you tap on the gas pedal while it is idling high, does it go back down? Or set the brake, leave it in neutral and go under the hood and pull on the linkage.

There is a switch on the clutch pedal to drop out the cruise control, but unless you have cruise control and it was engaged at the time, it's not going to cause a problem like this.

its not s sticky throttle because after it goes down, it stays fora few seconds, then goes right back up. a faulty clutch pedal..i dont know what that is but ill ask around. someone else told be it might be my aic (air idol controller) or something like that, but i already took it out and cleaned it, would that help or should i just go and buy a brand new one?

alright...well check if your ECU is blinking when that CEL comes up. its under the carpet on the passenger side....

count the blinks and you can see what that means
