idle problem. please help

Default idle problem. please help

When my car is idling it revs up and down. to very high and than low, sounds like it misses when it is reving back down.
i have a 1997 honda civic dx. any ideas what this could be? or how to fix it

"Roaming" or "Seeking" idle happens often when there is a problem with the Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) . Search that and see if that sounds like your problem. It could simply have come unplugged or be clogged.
